When is the best time?
The most popular question we get is When is the best time for a 3D/4D ultrasound? We put together the best answer in pictures and a short description of what you can expect to see! Hydration is a key factor in getting the best photos.
10-13 Weeks
You will see the entire baby, little arm buds and legs.
Baby may have the hiccups! Baby's face will be bone structure since baby doesn't have any fat yet.
A full bladder and good amniotic fluid is necessary for this stage.
14-19 Weeks
You will be able to see the baby's full body along with slight facial features such as, nose and lips. You will see those big kicks and tiny hands and feet. And everyone's favorite GENDER!
A full bladder and good fluid levels are a MUST!
20-27 Weeks
Baby still has a good amount of room to move around. If baby isn't in the ideal position for photo's this stage is the best to get baby to move around more to achieve those beautiful facial photos. You will see more defined facial features and depending on how far you are still see full body images.
Good fluid levels are a MUST for these photos!
28-33 Weeks
Fully defined facial features are what you will get at this stage. We focus mainly on getting those precious baby cheeks and smiles. Baby still has slight room to move around and we can work with baby if hand or foot are blocking face.
Good fluid levels are SUPER important to get facial photos!!!
34-36 Weeks
At this stage baby will most likely be head down or have many objects in front of face which will impact our ability to capture photos. We can still manage to get beautiful facial images as long as baby is in a good position. Just know the further along you get the less likely we are to guarantee facial photos.
PLEASE NOTE: Cord, arms, legs, placenta, and position of baby have a huge impact on babies photos. We do our best to obtain beautiful images for you!
